Alexey Oleynik And Oli Thompson Are Set For A Rematch At RCC 17

Heavyweights Alexey Oleynik and Oli Thompson are gearing up to face each other once again. Their rematch is scheduled as the co-main event for RCC 17, set to unfold on December 15 in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

The two fighters clashed in May of this year, with Thompson securing the win via first round KO. That bout deviated from the standard MMA rules, as the fighters were only scheduled for three three-minute rounds instead of the typical three five-minute rounds. However, their upcoming rematch will adhere strictly to standard regulations.

Oleynik's name is synonymous with the UFC, having participated in 18 matches for the renowned American organization since 2014. Alexey also made early appearances in the Bellator and KSW events at the outset of his career.

On the other hand, Thompson has showcased his skills in various top-tier leagues but hasn't quite solidified his position in any. Yet, his professional journey boasts remarkable encounters. In 2020, he clinched the championship title with the Polish FEN organization and squared off against Sergei Kharitonov.

The spotlight for RCC 17 also shines on the showdown between Alexander Shlemenko and Alexander Ilic. This grand event will unfold at the KRK "Uralets" arena, accommodating a substantial audience.
